Can't sync anymore

First of all, I have used the program for years and love it. It has always been a great and dependable program. However, here's how I spent an entire day, with no results:
1.I upgraded from Microsoft Money 2004 to Money Plus (the latest version)
2.I upgraded from Cash Organizer 2005 to Cash Organizer 2007
3.I discovered that they are not compatible, and was unable to locate a download of Money 2007
4.I uninstalled Money Plus and reinstalled Money 2004
5.I encountered a variety of errors trying to re-sync with Cash Organizer
6.I upgraded ActiveSync from 3.8 to 4.5 and encountered even more difficult errors
7.I uninstalled ActiveSync 4.5 and Cash Organizer 2007 and went back to 3.8 and 2005
8.Active Sync tells me the data is synced but when I open Cash Organizer on the Pocket PC it is blank.

I am at my wits end. I suppose the only thing left to do is to do a hard reset of my Pocket PC and start from scratch. Anyone got any other ideas in case I change my mind?
